Theatre: Reference Resources

What is a reference source?

A reference source provides basic factual information. Common reference works include dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, and guides. Some college-level reference sources can provide discipline-specific introductions to the research that has been completed in a particular area. These sources are not typically allowed to be directly cited in your papers (although there may be discipline-specific exceptions), but they are an excellent place way to begin your research. All of the reference sources provided by the library are written by experts in the field.

Credo Reference
