Grants are non-repayable sums of money given by one party to another. Often the grant maker is a government department, a corporation, a foundation or a trust; often the recipient is a nonprofit entity, an educational institution, a business or an individual. Most grants are made to fund a specific project and require either a proposal or application and some level of compliance and reporting.
Use this guide to help you search for information about grant and funding opportunities and to help you write a successful proposal. Coverage includes government, association and private funders.
