Citation Management

Why use a citation manager?

Citation managers are invaluable when writing research papers, theses and dissertations. Oftentimes these papers can have dozens of sources, and using a citation manager can save all of your articles, chapters and more in one place. Citation managers can also ensure your sources are cited consistently and correctly throughout your assignment.

There are several subscription and free citation managers. This guide will provide instructions for Zotero, which is a free resource, and for EndNote, which is a paid subscription with a free version. The Farley Library recommends using Zotero for citation management.
