English 101 - Dr. Kuhar (Section B): Home

This Libguide will assist the students in Section B of Eng 101 to complete their Annotated Bibliography and Research Essay

Library Research Assignment:

Research (minimum) requirements: include 5 sources in your annotated bibliography and five sources in your essay.  You are required to include the following sources in your annotated bibliography and essay:

  1. Three "peer-reviewed" articles from scholarly journals.
  2. One Online (Web) source:  You must include one source from either of these two online (Web) organizations:  (A) PEW Research Center or (B) Gallup Poll.
  3. One specialized Reference Source.  You must include a Reference Source researched through CREDO.

Note: If you cannot access CREDO, exit CREDO and open any other library database or online reference (like Oxford English Dictionary O.E.D.).  Then try CREDO again.

 (This is a work-around for a temporary proxy-server glitch).

If you need assistance, Ask a Librarian!

The reference desk is located on the first floor of Farley library. You can stop by, call, email, text, or chat with the reference department. You can also make an appointment for an extended research consultation.

Summon: Search the library for books, articles, newspapers, and more.

Search Summon

What is Summon?

Summon searches all library materials appropriate to college-level research simultaneously and ranks the results by relevance to your search terms. We call this type of research a "discovery search." Rather than repeating your search in several library databases for articles and the library catalog for books, you can do one search in Summon and receive results for all the articles, books, newspapers, reference sources, and more that we have on your topic. Whenever available, full text links appear on the search results page. Have questions about how to use Summon? A librarian will be happy to answer.
