Collection Development & Management Policy of the E.S. Farley Library: Materials Reconsideration

The Collection Development & Management Policy of the E.S. Farley Library.

Reconsideration of Library Materials

The E.S. Farley Library selects materials in accordance with the established Collection Development Policy. Furthermore, the library’s policies are guided by the American Library Association Bill of Rights. When a Request for Reconsideration of Library Materials form is received, the Dean of the Library will appoint an ad hoc committee to review the request. The committee will include librarians responsible for selecting the item and a faculty member from outside the library with expertise in the subject area, in addition to the Dean of the Library. The objector will receive a decision, in writing, within 30 days of submitting the Request for Reconsideration of Library Materials form. The material in question will remain available for circulation during the review process.
