Alden Learning Commons

The Alden Learning Commons, located in the lower level of Farley Library, offers new and expanded technology with a cozy and collaborative learning environment. It is open 24/7 with after hours access via the South Street swipe card entrance, and includes:

  • 4 group study rooms
  • Diner-style group study areas with computers
  • Small group/individual study bays with computers
  • Printers and scanners located throughout the Commons.

The group study rooms are usually available on a first-come, first served basis, but may also be reserved for the current week by visiting the circulation desk at the library.

First Floor Computer Lab

  • Computers running both Mac OS and Windows
  • Computer station accessible to wheelchair users
  • Black and white GreenPrint printers
  • Color GreenPrint printer
  • Color scanners (8.5" x 11.7"), (one is accessible to wheelchair users)
  • Black and white photocopier, $.10 per copy
  • VHS players with monitors
  • DVD player with monitor
  • Microfilm reader
  • Microfiche reader

Fax Machine

The library fax machine is available for students to use at no charge. It is located in the Technical Services department on the second floor of the Library, which is open from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday.

Circulating Library Technology for In-Library Use

Ask about borrowing these items for use in the Library at the Circulation Desk. A valid Wilkes ID is required.
